Collection Development & Acquisition Strategies

Parallel assists institutions and/or individuals in assessing the status of a collection, providing advice as to how to refine it and direct its growth over time. Through Parallel’s art-market knowledge, research, and significant contacts with artists and collectors, Parallel achieves the development of short and long-term art collection and acquisition strategies tailored to a client. In a time frame that meets their needs, these strategies identify specific sources for acquisition and projected costs and schedules.

Collection development services include: collection mission, establishing a culture of solid and sustainable curatorship, a comprehensive curatorial vision, prefiguration (planning of collection in sync with walls), financial management, collection guidelines and programming, staffing plan and team building, art research, governance model, and a phasing plan.
